Delaney's New Trick

Talk about "scare the crap out of mommy"! She was complaining in her crib so Jess and I gave her 5 minutes to calm down and see if she would sleep. We finally went in there to see her STANDING in her crib. Seriously the child had pulled herself up and was standing. We quickly moved the matress down a natch! She has now started pulling up on her kicking toy, her exesaucer, the couch, our legs, chairs, etc. Oh my my my! I was really prepared for mobility...not prepared for this just yet. She doesn't even use crawling as a mode of transportation but I'll be darned if she doesn't pull up...and even more recently she is attempting to cruise on the couch and her exesaucer. These darn small babies are trouble. :)

Delaney's New Food List

Well Delaney has really changed what she eats lately...

Multigrain Cheerios
Brown Rice w/ veggies and egg white
Scrambled Eggs
Whole Grain Bread
Hummus
Pears
Banana
Rice Cakes
Peas
Whole Wheat Pasta
Shredded Mozzerella
Jello
Blueberries

She hates being fed with a spoon more than once or twice a week so that limits any type of baby food consumption.

Shelly and Violet come to visit

Shelly and Violet came to visit our family for a few days. Violet adored Julia. She followed her around and imitated what Julia did...including dancing, doing the splits, and plays with the balls. Violet's appetite and thirst increased in the midwest, however she didn't enjoy sleeping. Shelly was such a great guest. She ran around the city even though she was exhausted. We HOPE they will try to come back for another visit sometime!

Homeschooling

Okay...here we go! We have all decided to take the plunge and homeschool the girls. We are committing to 1 year and then re-evaluating each year. We are getting the curriculum ready for hte subjects that we feel need structured books and we are getting the materials ready for the subject we feel they can learn outside of an extremely structured "school" type book. Jess and I are really excited to start this adventure and we are also scared and nervous about the task in front of us. Now all we need to do is write a letter to the school district, contact the school, apply for a homeschooling charter or whatever its called, buy materials/books, have a lesson planning meeting to establish the first month (one will be done every month), calm the kids down a bit because they are WAY excited about this, breathe, start. LOL! Oh and we need a name for our school.

I'm leaving you with some cute pictures take this week...
